Informal Wine Tasting – A Journey Through German Riesling
Informal Wine Tasting at Eggen – A Journey Through German Riesling
One grape. Three completely different expressions.
This time, our popular informal wine tasting takes us to Germany – the home of Riesling.

Riesling is one of the world’s most versatile grape varieties, and this evening you will discover just how different wines made from the very same grape can be. From fresh, dry and mineral-driven to more fruity, rounded and sweet – it is all about the balance between acidity, fruit and sweetness.
And as always with our wine tastings: You don’t need any previous wine knowledge. This is a relaxed and social tasting for anyone who is curious about wine, enjoys a good glass, or simply wants to spend a lovely evening with friends.
We will taste three different styles of German Riesling:
🥂 Trocken – Dry
Fresh, elegant and crisp, with lively acidity, citrus and mineral notes.
🥂 Feinherb / Halbtrocken – Off-Dry
A little sweeter, while still remaining fresh – an exciting balance of fruit, acidity and residual sweetness.
🥂 A Slightly Sweeter Riesling
Riper fruit and more noticeable sweetness, while Riesling’s characteristic acidity keeps the wine fresh and balanced.
Three glasses. One grape. And perhaps a brand-new favourite.
Wine Tasting – NOK 345 per person
Includes 3 tasting glasses of approximately 100 ml each, with an introduction to the wines throughout the tasting.
You do not need to book dinner to take part. Join us just for the wine tasting, order something from our snack menu – or make a full evening of it and combine the tasting with dinner at Eggen.
