Sustainability is at the heart of Romsdalsgondolen - from how we build to how we operate. Innovative solutions, reversible installations and thoughtful choices ensure minimal impact on nature and lasting value for the local community.

Innovative and low-impact construction
All materials were transported by helicopter due to the lack of access roads. A 30-meter-high crane on the rock reduced helicopter use during assembly and minimized impact on the mountain.

Reversible installations
Our buildings stand on pillars drilled into the rock and can be removed without leaving visible traces. This means no blasting and no concrete foundations, protecting the landscape for future generations.
Smart solutions, responsible infrastructure
A drilled tunnel from Nesstranda provides water, sewage and electricity to the mountain top, reducing visible interventions in nature and ensuring a stable infrastructure.
Environmentally certified operations
An environmental plan and advisor were part of the construction process, and the operation of Romsdalsgondolen is environmentally certified.
